The Harmony of Small Changes

I spent the early hours rewriting and working on my labour of love The Tracking which I look forward to sending off to the next round of beta readers in another week.

My thoughts are busy with social media platforms, book proposals, and the book itself. I feel as if I have invested so much time in this that I am not ready to fail but just might after everything is said and done.

Life will go on and I can take pride in the knowledge that I wrote a book and followed through with it every step of the way. I know that writing this book has been my own mini accomplishment and one that I will always be proud of regardless of what others will say or think about it.

The one thing that I have learned  during this writing  process is  that making small changes to my routine has allowed for me to reach my goals in completing this project. Small steps and early mornings have been propelling me one inch closer to the finish line.

 

Yoga  has also become a part of my daily routine – a  substitution for the glass of wine and chocolate at the end of the day. The other night I walked  into class with no expectations other than just try to be in the present.  I worked through each pose focusing on my breath keeping my mind from wandering into another realm, and even found some balance just  standing on one leg.

Balance is an arduous maneuver for me even on my best days.

I suspect in life just like yoga the trick is to keep working on balance and strength in all aspects of our lives. It is what will propel us to change, to strive to be better, and keep us working towards our creative aspirations.

I don’t think there is ever an easy route to reaching our goals – just always remember to keep your chin-up, open your heart, and breathe.

    Exactly! You will never “fail” with this, because you accomplished something few others ever do. Your book is your own little pride and joy, regardless of how many other people ever read it. Remember that!

  2. This is beautiful as always! I have been so out of the loop. I didn’t know you are writing a book. Congrats! I know it will be a success. I’m proud of you!

  3. You know, Balance has always been rather a hated word – just like that other B word for me. BUT – when you pair it with Strength – well that I love! that I can get on board with. I am loving my yoga these days too. I thought it was a bit of hogwash — but I feel so incredible “centered” – it’s amazing.
