The Warmth of a Sunrise

On vacation I enjoy sneaking out of bed early to take photos of the quiet landscape before the hustle and bustle of the day. It is a magical time as the sunrises and the colors dance across the sky. The landscape turns from dark to light with not a single person around to disturb the serenity of the moment.

A calm reminder that each gentle sunrise begins with a fresh start to  another day. You never know what the future will bring but the key is to embrace the little things when other bits of your life turn dark.  A quiet bench were you can sip your coffee as the warm sun beats down on your neck is one of those tiny  morsels of goodness.

Sometimes life brings chaos but with it moments of clarity. It teaches us to grow, not make the same mistake twice, and keep moving forward to reach our goals. I hope in the coming weeks as many of you face the wrath of the White Witch  that you all find a morsel of warm sunshine to brighten your day.

  1. I love that moment of the day. I remember, when I was a kid and we were on holiday with my aunt and cousins, I used to get up and join her at about 7am to enjoy the sight of the sun rising above the sea. I’m not sure how much she enjoyed my chattering company at that time, but now I understand what she wanted from that experience, before I ruined it

  2. I am with you.. I love to watch the sunrise – on vacation and at home….Oh that white wrath… I am so done with her!

  3. Belle, indeed this is one of the best times to make friends with serenity. I also find it’s ideal for inspiring creativity. Perhaps it’s the silence or the stillness of the surroundings, but whatever it is, it nurtures the spirit! 🙂

      1. the new theme is totally different and i like how it displays all your posts with the featured photo…you think it’s minimalistic? i think it’s a nice change…

  4. I recall a New Year’s resolution I made in 1975 (I was on a tractor pulling a trailer heading out to feed the cows and the sun was just coming up and it was a beautiful morning).
I resolved to see the sun come up every day for the rest of my life. Of course that has not happened, but I am thinking of revisiting that promise and having another go at it.

    Great thoughts and lovely photo.
