The Night Sky

The night sky is always in constant change and each night it is different as it prepares for a visit from the stars and the moon. It watches over us and keeps our secrets in its darkest hours of night.

Sometimes it sends the wind out to whisper to us in our thoughts and dreams. It reminds us with its soothing voice that we are constant and always able to change.

The beauty of the  night is it  offers us to  rest our weary heads and blesses us to move forward in the morning one steady step at a time.

Do you admire the beauty and power of the night? What does it whisper to you?

  1. What I admire about the night is how it has the capability of improving my math skills. During the day I’m a complete math moron, but if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can accurately calculate, to the exact minute, how much longer I still have to sleep.

  2. I love the night for the silence. When the weather allows open windows, I love hearing the night birds, the wind, the ripples of minnows across the water, the crickets and frogs. There’s a world filling the night that so many never experience.

  3. I love the night sounds around my house, even in the dead of winter when the silence appears to be absolute and you hold your breath expectantly, anticipating a sound… anything, and you’re rewarded with an owl hooting in the distance. The summer brings the bats back, and I enjoy sitting out and watching them and their aerial acrobatics.

  4. Yes… in my old home, we had a large skylight directly over our bed. It created a feel of out of doors, particularly on clear nights. When I was at the camp, walking at night, even in cold, created a different feel, soothing to one’s spirit.

    Nice pic…

  5. That’s a neat picture! It really looks like day and night are coming together. I have always enjoyed the calmness and stillness of night. A big, bright moon has an element of peacefulness… a nice change of pace after a busy day. 🙂

  6. Is it the night that does that whispering? I’ve got this story in my head that’s making it hard for me to think about much of anything else (and I do have MANY other things that need thinking about, today). I am grateful, in a way, for these persistent whisperings. It’s been a long time, you know? But seriously, I got stuff to do! (Beautiful image, Belle.)

  7. Sometimes the night whispers “it’s OK, I’ve got you,” but other nights it snarls “look out, I’m coming for you…”

  8. Lovely photo . . . and I love the power and beauty of the night. Lately have dancing on my mind so I’m fearing it’s whispering dancing under the moonlight. That would be a real treat! 🙂
