The Beauty of the Grand Canyon

Some trips are worth the distance and the biggest highlight of our trip was the Grand Canyon! The breath-taking views left us awestruck and inspired us to reach for the sky!

It is the vast distance and strength of the rock that remind us how small we are in comparison to the world that surrounds us.

As you look-out you see the vast horizon stretch for miles and miles! It seems like the possibilities are infinite and within a stones reach of holding in your hand.

The Grand Canyon reminds us that nature is not our back drop but an unpredictable companion that changes shape, face, and temperament. It is a beauty that we must cherish and respect in all of its infinite glory!

What unpredictable companion inspires you?

  1. I’ve never visited on the ground, but I’ve flown over it, including back when airlines were allowed to cruise along it for a while. Beautiful!

  2. I always love Grand Canyon. It is so majestic and gives me the feeling as of it will embrace me within it. It will protects me even from my own worries.

Now looking at your photos, reminding me the fond memories we had at Grand Canyon.

Welcome back and seems like you really enjoy the visit.

    1. Thank you! It truly is breath-taking! I don’t think my photos give it much justice πŸ™‚ We had a fantastic trip and I wish we could have stayed longer.

Oh! Well! I guess another reason to go back in the future!

  3. The unpredictable companion of the forces of nature . . . severe weather conditions and earthquakes are two that come to mind right now.
Your photos are beautiful and since I’ve not seen the Grand Canyon, except in photos, yours are making me want to visit soon!! πŸ™‚

  4. Wow. Fantastic pictures. I want to see the Grand Canyon one day. Nature always inspires me. I love seeing the elusive alligator or two in one of the lakes, an otter play on the shore… and sit by the ocean and just watch the waves roll in and out.

  5. These are awesome, Darcie!

This is a little unusual for me, but I see God when I look at the Grand Canyon. I don’t see him in many places, but this is definitely where I see his handy work. And he is pretty unpredictable, wouldn’t you agree?

    1. Thank you!

That is not unusual at all! I think God is in all of earth’s wonders and is with us one step at a time. He is very unpredictable but it is nice to know that he is there watching over us πŸ™‚

  6. I agree with Megan, when I look at such beauty and magnificence I see God; I see His awesome handiwork ~ the greatest artist ever! The pictures are simply breathtaking, Darcie. Thank you!

You asked what unpredictable companion inspires me, and I must say the ocean. Their is something tranquil and yet terrifying about the vast ocean. It makes me want to take a deep, deep breath. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! He is the greatest artist to known to man and we are very lucky to have him create such a beautiful landscape to enjoy πŸ™‚

I love the ocean I find it very soothing and comforting to look out over its vast horizon. But it’s nature can change so quickly with the blink of an eye.

  7. Beautiful pictures…. As for what unpredictable companion inspires you – I would say Alex the cat… When I think of everything he went through last summer and how he thrived after, I am in awe. Gives me hope

  8. The best day of life so far was seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time, I had been studying abroad and to finish off my amazing experience I was on a road trip with some wonderful girls. I watched the sunset over this magnificaent place and then slept under the stars. It was incredible. Being from the Uk I have an idea of big but was just beyond anthing I had seen before, it made me think anthing was possible.
