Va-Va-Voom! What is Your Stripper Move?

Dance is a seductive art form that can  hypnotize a man with a sway of a hip or a lift of the leg! It is the siren call to your mate for intimacy, lust, and seduction. The closeness, the peeling of clothes, and the slip of the foot. It with that the stiletto smacks your lover straight in the eye.

Oops! Maybe that kick shouldn’t have been so high! And with that a trip to the emergency room is all you will be celebrating this Valentine’s day.

It with that startling daydream I wondered  could the right music and look turn anyone into a glittery stripper?

Only through the decades have we seen a shift in musical taste from burlesque moves to stripper poles. All of these carefree forms of art –  one must be right for me:

  •  The  art of burlesque to the sounds Let Me Entertain You with the tease of the hips and the flaunt of the feather boa
  • The invention of the go-go girl to These Boots Are Made for Walking  practicing the shimmy of the chest
  • The inner rock star shines with I Want You to Want Me strutting in a pleather skirt and crawling across the corvette like Tawny Kitaen
  •  The  sound of  Toxic  brings me to hanging upside down from the stripper pole with the hopes of not falling on my head
  •  Maybe the shake of rump to the sounds Milkshake because yes it always brings those bad boys to the yard

As I went to through the list I realized one thing that all of those moves would be deadly for me! They would all involve me falling off of something or losing something and injuring my inner thigh. I would disappoint the union of glittery strippers worldwide!

So maybe the most subtle gesture to intimacy is a case of beer and a pepperoni pizza! Now that is the ticket to adding a little spice on this valentines day! And for good measure I might just belch the alphabet with my hair down.

How do you work your va-va-voom? Do you have a classic stripper move?

  1. Whaaat, at this age Belle, working the va-va-voom would take too much work and effort. Who needs it? I’m with you on that case of beer and pizza– throwing in a good movie too– sounds more sensible and practical! 🙂

  2. Laughing – I have no good moves and I desperately need one! I tried stealing some of your ideas – certainly liked the I Want You to Want Me till I pictured an image of myself crawling across our car. I might have to do the beer and pizza move myself!

    1. I think you should put on your tap shoes and shuffle step on the hood of your car 😉 You will work up such an appetite that pizza will be the only option and for dessert may I suggest a chocolate stout…

  3. Well I am so uncordinated that I can’t even do the hokey pokey, but a few years back I signed up for free belly dancing classes and I loved it. I really did for the first time in my life feel ultra femine. I wasnt great at it but I enjoyed it and that makes all the difference in the world.
If your looking for some new moves give belly dancing a try and turn your evening into a sultry mysterious adventure.

    1. Oh! I think I might have too! I think I still have my Dil Chahtha Hai soundtrack somewhere…

Belly Dancing is suppose to be a great workout! I would love to try it! I wonder if my abs would survive it 😉

  4. I have no stripper moves. I’d never thought of this issue before.

But now that I have thought about it I’ve decided that my ability to shimmy a 20 dollar bill out of my wallet to buy beer & pizza is all the sexy that I need. I’m sure that The Hubster would agree!

    1. Hahaha! I bet you do! We all have them! We just need to tap into them! Maybe?

The ability to shimmy a 20 bill out of your wallet sounds perfect to me! Perhaps, add a little music to the build up pizza and beer! I’m thinking unskinny bop!

  5. I have a Strip tease workout DVD by Carmen Electra.
I just let him stare at the box cover. seems to do the trick.
and if all else fails, just play “You can Leave you Hat On”.

  6. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who doesn’t have the coordination to pull off a stripper move. I think if I tried that Oregano and I would both wind up in the hospital. I’d break a bone and he’d need oxygen from laughing so hard.

  7. This is so funny – thank you for making me laugh! The beer and pizza move is probably as good as it gets for me. Too much of that can really slow any other acrobatic moves down but maybe it’s safer that way.

    1. Hahaha! I think you should do a happy dance before the pizza arrives and enjoy your beer for the rest of the evening. Maybe I got this wrong? Maybe we should be drinking the beer while our partners dance for us 😉

  8. Oh, my gosh, too funny. And the comments! I must keep an air of mystery about my moves, I fear. But sometimes “She’s a Brick House” by the Commodores is playing in the background! She’s mighty, mighty, just lettin’ it all hang out…shick-it-bom-bom-bom…

  9. Stripper moves? Girl, I can barely get out of the house everyday without tripping on my own feet! And, when I get nervous, my palms sweat. So, if I had to swing around a pole, I’d probably slip off and hurt someone. 😉 Beer and pizza sounds much safer. I could do the “oh-so-sexy-and-sultry-sway-to-the-couch-with-a-piece-of-pizza-in-one-hand-and-a-beer-in-the-other” routine.

  10. Stripper move? But of course! Right in front of our fire place, we have a low chair… If I put on a performance, I use the chair as a prop, sort of like a lame stripper pole….

of course lots of wine is needed for this to happen..

  11. Back in the day, so many moons ago now, my “va-va-voom” for him was when we went dancing. He’s always like to watch me on the dance floor, telling me I was the best one out there. Well, comments like that got him everything he wanted. 🙂

Thank you for the music videos, I enjoyed them very much!

  12. I know you posted this a week ago, but I had to comment.

About seven months ago, I went to a bachelorette party. Part of the party was pole dancing and lap dancing lessons! It was so much fun, since it was just the bachelorette party in the studio and nobody else could see us. I’ve been dancing since I was three years old, but I’ve always wanted to take lessons to get my strut and my sexy up to par with…well, strippers.

I was actually told I was a “natural” at the lap dancing…and that my classic pole spin was “perfect…especially for my first time!” Crazy. I don’t know whether to be proud or uncomfortable about it.

My favorite move is definitely the classic pole spin, with this booty-pop thing at the end that our instructor taught us. It was sooo much fun. I definitely recommend taking a lesson or two!

  13. When I change into my pajamas at night, my husband often hums a jaunty tune in hopes of encouraging me to perform what he calls “The Melissa Show”. It’s never, ever gonna happen. Ever. Center stage is not where I like to be.
