    1. Thank you. It was taken in Puerto Vallarta they were getting ready to celebrate Our Lady Guadalope. It was a neat little spot with a small artisan market selling fresh Mexican food. Sometimes fur babies can bring us so much joy they are always listening and never talking back 😉

  1. What a great photo and great question.

Solace sneaks up on me in many places: a boat dock, the front porch, the beach, drinking coffee with my husband in bed, even the bathtub, or the sofa with a kitty in my arms (thanks Paprika!).

    Solace is a lovely word.

  2. Belle, I love the colorful flags! I find solace whenever I take long walks in the forest with Roxy. It’s always silent and peaceful, with the exception of the occasional encounter with other dogs, and I’m able to hear myself think. Surrounded by the tall trees, the leaves, and the sky above, it feels like paradise! 🙂

    1. Thank you – it was very beautiful little spot off the boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta. They were just preparing for the festivities following – up to the celebration of Our Lady Guadalope.

It’s those quiet moments in nature that really does feel like paradise.

  3. Hi Belle,
Great picture btw. I find solace at the local bookstore of all places. They tend to be quiet, the people are usually calm, and I can get a coffee and read some awesome books to boot.

    take care…

  4. With closed eyes and a song quietly playing on my mental radio while sitting in the smallest, darkest, quietest, most unobtrusive corner i can find.

That, and in the bed next to C after she’s fallen off to sleep. Especially on the cold nights.

  5. Solace moments . . . giving and given by the simple act of holding hands…
    with the grief stricken…
    with a loved one…
with a child who needs reassurance…
    with the dying…
    with God in prayer.
Thanks for this beautiful and inspiring work.

  6. What a beautiful photo!!

I find solace in my husband. He’s the only one who has loved me in in a way that demands nothing from me, doesn’t abuse my weaknesses, and always encourages my strength. When I am at my worst, he is there with warmth, love, tenderness, comfort, and uplifting words. When I am at my best, he is there cheering me on. When I need to make some sense of things, or find some peace, I seek him out.

    1. You just made my heart melt! I think it is beautiful that you receive so much from your husband in emotional support and love! It really is wonderful when you find that one true love 🙂 I wish you the best over the holiday season!

  7. I need to find solace again so I will be beautiful inside and outside. It’s a journey to finding balance. Here’s to hope in 2012. Happy new year Belle!

  8. I find solace in moments and places. God’s little gifts to us. A quiet moment in the evening, a day with a happy bustling family, a day at the beach. Most of my solace is found in solitude, but I treasure the family moments too, as we all do.
