The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

The first thing we did when we hit Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and made our way directly to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. As it poured rain, we smiled, we knew when it rains, crowds disperse, and there would be no wait times.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

We entered the castle and prepared for the ride of our lives.  The Forbidden Journey was amazing! We screamed, howled, and laughed, as we made our way on this fast paced interactive ride.

After the ride, we headed to check out the duelling dragons. I looked at it and decided I would opt out of this high-speed roller coaster where you come head to head with, of course, another roller coaster. I knew my heart couldn’t handle the thrill of the scare of speed, dropping, looping, and dueling dragons. It was too much for me to handle!

My husband, on the other hand, was game! He was ready to recruit his troops!

“Come on Boys!”

My oldest looked at him, “I’m not going on that! I’m sticking with mom!”

Robert on the other hand was in, “Lets go Dad! We will leave these wimps behind!”

And with that they made their way over to the dueling dragons. It was within seconds they came back. Robert had a very sad look on his face, “I’m not tall enough!”

“Oh! I’m sorry buddy!”

My husband had a look of relief on his face. He whispered to me, ” I’m slightly relieved that I don’t have to go on it.”

“Why?”

“My stomach feels a little off.”

I laughed “Ha! Who’s the wimp now Mr. Tough Guy!”

And with that we made our way to Jurassic Park for the ultimate plunge and splash!

    1. Jurassic Park was awesome! The kids loved the feeling of having a T-Rex fall on top of them before we plunged to the bottom of the rapids 🙂 It was really fun! Islands of Adventure was one of our favorite theme parks just for the variety of the rides!

  1. I love Harry Potter but was wondering how it translated into a theme park – the castle in your photo looks great. Sounds like they’ve made it interesting.

    1. I was skeptical about it translating into a theme park but it’s pretty neat! They spared no expense on detail from the cobblestone streets to the shops…Once you enter the castle and make your way through to the forbidden journey; there is tons to look at, watch, and explore. The ride itself is spectacular you really feel like you are flying on top of a dragon with all of its swoops and turns.

  2. I’ve been having such fun browsing around your blog, although I must admit my own stomach did a lurch or two when I read of your encounter with the Buffoon at the mall. I’m glad he didn’t turn violent – perhaps Harry Potter could be sent to deal with him as he deserves!

  3. Ah! I’m so jealous! That sounds like a such a blast. Me and my husband have been wanting to go to the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter since we first heard they were making it.

We don’t have kids to give us a good excuse to go, we are just huge Harry Potter fans. We even started a blog all about Harry Potter and the books and movies.

We’re trying to save up to go for my husbands birthday (I know, we are like dorky little kids) so we can video tape the whole trip and put it up on our blog and even bring back souvenirs for the other Harry Potter fans that subscribe to our blog.

Sounds like a wonderful time, I can’t wait to go!
